Solstad Farstad in CSV deal with Fugro

Offshore vessel owner Solstad Farstad has entered into a contract with Fugro Netherlands Marine for the CSV Normand Flower.

Solstad Farstad – which was formed in 2017 through a merger between Solstad Offshore, Deep Sea Supply, and Farstad Shipping – said on Monday that the contract with Fugro is for operations in North European waters for a period of six months firm.

The contract is set to start at the end March 2018, the vessel owner added.

Hans Knut Skår, EVP – Subsea Constructions & Renewable Energy of Solstad Farstad, said: “We experience an increasing demand for CSV tonnage in the North Sea and we are very pleased to be awarded our second vessel contract with Fugro.”

The Normand Flower is a construction support vessel of a UT 737 design built in 2002 by Søviknes Yard.

In related news, Solstad Farstad said last week it expected a pick-up in offshore vessel chartering in 2018 after several years of the depression in the sector.
