Sweden: MESAB Installs Its PB250 Pureballast Integrated Module on Cruise Vessel

ME Solutions of Tumba Sweden has received an order from Alfa Laval for an integrated module on the cruise vessel currently under construction at JJ Sietas shipyard in Hamburg Germany. The module, designated PB250, is a complete system that is delivered requiring only electrical power and pipe connections to ship systems. All equipment is mounted onto a frame, with the necessary electrical wiring connected and system testing complete.

Design drawings come with the unit and are delivered in 3D format for best integration into ship construction software. All interfaces have 3D coordinates for exact pipe size match. The complete module fits precisely into a 20 foot container and therefore into most spaces onboard the ship. There are various material choices available: SS, galvanized black steel, GRE/GRP, etc

This will be great for the customer, particularly for newbuilds, and we aiming at prefabricated modules for a delivery time of 2-4 weeks,” says MESAB Market Manager Bo Sköllermark.

ME Solutions AB is a Swedish company supplying turnkey environmental solutions in three areas: energy saving solutions, exhaust gas cleaning systems and ballast water cleaning systems. MESAB offers products, engineering, project management, installations and commissioning of the supplied systems. In the BWTS solutions we work with Alfa Laval as a turnkey partner.
