The contract has been extended for an additional three-year duration, with a “major producer in the Gulf of America”, TGS said.

Kristian Johansen, CEO at TGS, said: “This continuation of a long-term commitment from a major producer in the Gulf of America and strategic customer reflects our unwavering commitment to innovation and excellence and highlights our ability to adapt to evolving industry priorities. Through our continued service quality and commitment to operating safely and sustainably, we will continue to support the industry to maximise the potential of existing developments.”

In a strategic collaboration, TGS and SLB announced on February 10 the launch of Engagement 9, the latest phase of the companies’ OBN multi-client campaign in the Gulf of America. Acquisition is expected to be finished in July, with final data products anticipated for release in H2 2027.

This came after the Norwegian firm in January kicked off a new multi-client long-offset OBN acquisition campaign in the Gulf of America.
