TSG Marine and SPS Develop Pipe Repair Solution
TSG Marine and SPS have introduced a permanent class approved alternative to conventional ‘crop and replace’ pipework and tubular product renewal, undertaken whilst the pipe is in-service.
TSG/Pipe Repair with SPS, a no hot works bolted solution, designed and tested by TSG Marine and SPS has been verified by DNV GL under international standards.
A SPS structural composite is formed by bonding a new outer pipe to the existing corroded or worn pipework using an elastomer core. The inherent efficiency of the composite means that pipework corroded beyond class society allowances can still be utilised, this aids the sustainable long term operational viability of assets.
The installation of TSG/Pipe Repair with SPS does not require to break the containment of the pipework. Repairs are undertaken by a small specialist team, and it is said to take a fraction of the man hours required for a conventional repair at reduced risk and cost.
