Two more gigs for TGS in Europe

Norwegian energy data and intelligence company TGS has secured two new contracts in the North Sea, following the announcement of its second ocean bottom node (OBN) contract in Europe for the 2026 season.

TGS has won a 4D streamer acquisition contract offshore Norway, with a Ramform vessel scheduled to mobilize for the survey in the second quarter of 2026.

The contract is expected to run for approximately 65 days and was awarded for a repeat customer.

“We have successfully conducted several monitoring surveys in this area, demonstrating the capabilities of our Ramform-designed vessels and our proprietary GeoStreamer technology. I am confident that our acquisition platform will once again deliver high-quality data to help optimize our client’s oil and gas production,” said Kristian Johansen, CEO of TGS.

In another statement, TGS reported that it had secured another ocean bottom node (OBN) contract in Europe, further extending its acquisition campaign.

The node-on-a-rope crew will begin acquisition in early April, and the contract has a duration of approximately 45 days.

The Norwegian firm did not state where the work would be carried out exactly, but did say that the contract was for the North Sea.

“Our node-on-a-rope crew ensures efficient acquisition of high-quality data over a well-established producing field for a repeat customer. The data is used to optimize resource extraction, and the contract contributes to our ongoing efforts to lead the way in acquiring and delivering high-quality data,” said Johansen.

Of note, after securing its first OBN deal in Europe for the 2026 season in December 2025, TGS at the end of January reported the award of an additional contract. For this second contract, the company’s node-on-a-rope crew will mobilize in mid-summer, with the project expected to run for approximately 30 days.
