U.S. offshore rig count remains unchanged

Baker Hughes Incorporated has posted Weekly Rig Count reports to its Investor Relations website. U.S. offshore rig count remains unchanged from last week. 

BHI Rig Count: U.S. -4 to 1925 rigs

U.S. Rig Count is down 4 rigs from last week to 1925, with oil rigs down 14 to 1568, gas rigs up 10 to 356, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 1.
U.S. Rig Count is up 171 rigs from last year at 1754, with oil rigs up 185, gas rigs down 9, and miscellaneous rigs down 5.

The U.S. Offshore rig count is 53, unchanged from last week, and down 5 rigs year over year.

BHI Rig Count: Canada -19 to 410 rigs

Canadian Rig Count is down 19 rigs from last week to 410, with oil rigs down 12 to 225, and gas rigs down 7 to 185.
Canadian Rig Count is up 32 rigs from last year at 378, with oil rigs up 4, and gas rigs up 28.

The Baker Hughes Rotary Rig Counts are counts of the number of drilling rigs actively exploring for or developing oil or natural gas in the United States, Canada and international markets. Baker Hughes has issued the rotary rig counts as a service to the petroleum industry since 1944, when Hughes Tool Company began weekly counts of US and Canadian drilling activity. Baker Hughes initiated the monthly international rig count in 1975.
