UK: 3sun Group’s Managing Director Named Business Person of the Year

Graham Hacon, managing director of 3sun Group, has been named as the Business Person of the Year at the 2012 Lowestoft and Waveney Chamber of Commerce Awards.

The winner was announced at a prestigious ceremony on Thursday 6th of December at Potters Leisure Resort in Hopton, Lowestoft. Entrants of the Business Person of the Year award were expected to demonstrate exceptional vision, business flair and leadership.

Graham Hacon, the owner and managing director of Great Yarmouth-based 3sun Group, a leading provider of products and services to the global energy industry, was awarded the title for his outstanding contribution to the overall business performance of the company and his consistent dedication in achieving the business goals.

The award was also in recognition of his ability to inspire others and act as a role model, which Graham has demonstrated with his substantial investment in training and development. He has created various training schemes to help his people excel and is a strong supporter of apprenticeships, while also actively recruiting members of the ex-forces.

“A range of initiatives are being introduced including a Technician Development Scheme and a Supervisory Management Training and Development programme. The training schemes ensure the skills and competencies of our personnel are maintained at a high level to continuously meet client requirements and demands.

“This award win recognises our rapid expansion through hard work, excellent professional relationships and knowledge of the company’s target industries. I look forward to building on these achievements in the future.”

The Lowestoft and Waveney Chamber of Commerce Awards, now in their fifth year celebrate the best talent in the industry with categories including Business of the Year, Product Innovation and International Trade.

3sun Group has enjoyed significant growth over the past 2 years with turnover increasing from £2.4 million in 2010 to £6.5million in 2011 and has achieved almost £12million in 2012.

The Group prides itself on its personnel’s knowledge, experience, training and competency standards and had already invested £550,000 into staff training and development in the last 18 months before taking on 20 new apprentices in September 2012.
