UK: Arklow Begins Sea Trials for WFSV Gardian 8

Arklow Begins Sea Trials for WFSV Gardian 8

After the first 20 m Wind Farm Service Vessel Gardian 8 was launched on January 12th 2012, Arklow Marine is now undergoing sea trials for the mentioned vessel.

To meet current enquiries from the offshore industry Arklow has recently designed a new 20 m WFSV to operate during the construction of offshore wind farms and also to meet service requirements when the farm is up and running.

The vessel can carry 12 passengers and 2 crew and are built to DNV, BV or Lloyds classification and also comply on MCA requirements.

Furthermore, these vessels ensure a safe transfer of passengers from the vessel to the access platform on the vertical towers.

Arklow Marine Services is a family business run by the Tyrrell family, who have been involved in boat building in Arklow since 1864. During this period the art of shipbuilding has evolved through many phases, from traditional timber boat building through to steel boat building and the latest material being aluminium used in the building of high speed vessels.
