Kherson Shipyard Hosts State Officials

On March 22 a briefing took place at Kherson Shipyard with a participation of Mr. Nikolay Kostyak, the Head of Kherson Regional State Administration, Mr. Vladimir Saldo. Head of Kherson City and Mr. Vasily Fedin, Director General of Kherson Shipyard. The guests of honour have visited the Company shops and have familiarized with the Hull Order progress.

The Shipyard not only restores its capacities but also survives to-day its second birth.”, noted Mr. Nikolay Kostyak, the Head of Kherson Regional State Administration, “constantly increases the number of workers, the salary grows. Kherson used to be and is the City of Shipbuilders and it is a prestige to work at the Shipyard to-day.”

For Kherson it is very important that the branch, with which the foundation of our city is connected, the shipbuilding, to advance stable. Kherson Shipyard is the biggest company in the city, which to-day provides for the most weighty contribution into Kherson economy,” said Mr. Vladimir Saldo, Kherson City Mayor.

The Contracts signed so far provide for the Shipyard workload till the end of 2013. Kherson Shipyard to-day has created 800 new working places and is ready to hire experts of main shipbuilding professions – electric welders, metal Hull assemblers, pipe liners, assembling-and outfitting workers.

For the preparation of the necessary number of production workers the company plans to spend annually UAH 1 million(approx USD 124.6 mln). The shipyard has declared the intake and initiated the preparation of electric welder cadets, ship assemblers, ship pipe liners, assembling-and outfitting workers, gas-cutters.
