UN Ro-Ro to Expand Coverage with Ulusoy Shipping

Turkish owner and operator of cargo ships UN Ro-Ro Isletmeleri has decided to expand its coverage with the purchase of its compatriot Ulusoy Shipping Group.

Namely, the company is paying EUR 215 million (USD 230.8 million) for the deal, which is said to be one of the company’s “most important investments in Ro-Ro and maritime industry.”

The acquisition is expected to increase the trade volume the company handles between Turkey and Europe due to the activation of a Cesme-Tolone line and a new Istanbul-Cesme-Bari service.

UN Ro-Ro operates a fleet of 12 RoRo cargo vessels built between 2001 and 2013.

The company’s vessels, which annually carry around 322 thousand vehicles, are deployed between the Turkish ports of Pendik, Ambarli, Mersin and the Italian ports of Trieste and Ancona. The ships also visit the French port of Tolone.
