Singapore-based Kreuz Subsea, a provider of integrated offshore subsea services, has launched its newbuild diving support vessel (DSV), the Kreuz Challenger, that is being built by the Norwegian shipbuilder Vard.

The Kreuz Challenger was named earlier in September. It is scheduled for delivery from Vard Søviknes in Norway in the second quarter of 2017.

The newbuild vessel, of a VARD 3 17 design, is 91.2 meters long and 21.5 meters wide. It is equipped with a 12-man saturation diving system, Self Propelled Hyperbaric Lifeboat (SPHL), 100-ton active heave compensated (AHC) crane, and accommodation for 105 personnel.

It will be used to provide Inspection Remedial & Maintenance (IRM) and light construction services for Brunei Shell Petroleum in South East Asia.
