Wood to provide services for Wintershall’s Brage platform

Oilfield services provider Wood has secured a new call off from Wintershall to provide engineering and construction services to the Brage offshore platform, west of Bergen, Norway.

Awarded under an existing framework agreement signed in 2016, the scope of the contract includes engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) associated with well hook-up on the platform, Wood said on Thursday.

Effective immediately, the assignment will be managed from Wood’s Bergen location, which delivered engineering and construction services for corrective maintenance during the shutdown of the Brage platform earlier this year.

“Wood has decades of experience working on the NCS and this award further achieves our strategic focus on growing our foothold as a modifications service provider in Norway and Europe.”

The Brage field is Wintershall Norge’s first operated production field. The company took over operatorship in 2013 as part of an asset swap with Equinor, then Statoil. First oil from the platform was produced back in 1993.

Wintershall recently marked the 25th anniversary of oil production from the Brage field.
