Shortly after Venture Global announced a final investment decision (FID) and financial close of the $8.6 billion project financing for the second phase of the CP2 LNG (CP2) project, Worley received full notice to proceed from the American LNG developer under its reimbursable engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for the project.

The Australian firm has been providing EPC planning services for Phase 2 under a limited notice to proceed linked to the EPC contract. The CP2 project is described as a major LNG export facility located in Cameron Parish, Louisiana, United States.

Worley has also been providing EPC services for the first phase of the LNG development, with on-site construction for Phase 1 having started in June 2025.

Chris Ashton, Chief Executive Officer at Worley, commented: “This is one of the most significant and strategically important LNG projects globally and we’re proud to work with Venture Global as their project delivery partner.

“This project leverages our extensive expertise in LNG and builds on our capability to deliver complex, large-scale projects.”

Worley, which has identified LNG as one of its priority markets, is working on multiple projects of this type, including the next phase of an LNG terminal in Germany with Deutsche Energy Terminal (DET) and the final engineering works on Glenfarne’s Alaska LNG export project.
