TGS wins third offshore wind contract for summer season in Europe

Norwegian energy data and intelligence company TGS has won another contract to deploy its seismic vessel Ramform Vanguard for an offshore wind site characterization campaign in Europe.

Under the contract that has a duration of approximately one and a half months, Ramform Vanguard will commence data acquisition in the second half of July.

Kristian Johansen, CEO of TGS, said: “We are very pleased to have secured our third offshore wind site characterization contract for the European summer season this year. With additional tenders in the market, there is potential to extend this year’s campaign into the fourth quarter.”

TGS reported in March that Ramform Vanguard had been tasked with an oil & gas site survey, followed by two offshore wind campaigns, in the upcoming summer season in Europe.

The vessel was built in 1998 and is 86.2 meters long.
