Cargo ship contract is terminated

Shipping company Huelin-Renouf has terminated its contract with a German shipbuilder to supply a new vessel for its Channel Islands’ freight route. The decision was made after the company failed to complete an order on time for a bespoke 85m-long (279ft) replacement cargo vessel scheduled for December. The ship had been specially designed to operate within Jersey and Guernsey’s harbours and could hold 148 containers.
