Australia: Subsea 7 Contracts Velocious to Support Gorgon Project

Velocious, an oil and gas industry specialist in subsea intervention engineering and tooling, has been successfully contracted by Subsea 7, a global seabed-to-surface engineering, construction and services contractor, to provide ROV Tooling and services for the Gorgon Project in Australia.

The contract involves delivery of offshore rated Hydraulic Power Units, industry standard Torque Tools, various ROV Tooling, spares and offshore support. The contract is to be delivered prior to the end of January to meet the tight mobilization schedule and allow sufficient time for integration and testing with the WROV’s.

This is Velocious’ first project with Subsea 7 for Gorgon and builds on the back of other scopes recently delivered to support Subsea 7’s global offshore construction activities.

Brett Silich, CEO at Velocious, said:

“We are delighted to have secured this contract which highlights the significant ongoing relationship between the two companies and Velocious’ capability to turn around projects against a tight schedule. Supply chain, our relationship with key suppliers and the ability to engineer innovative solutions ensure we continue to deliver a full range of subsea intervention products and supporting deck equipment. Not only shall this contract support local industry but will demonstrate Velocious’ ability to standardize products whereby there is global demand.”

Velocious has also designed, built and delivered other critical subsea tooling scopes and associated services for use in subsea work on the Chevron-operated Gorgon Project off North Western Australia.
