David Lang has joined Chicago-based international law firm Baker McKenzie as a partner and will serve as global head of liquefied natural gas (LNG).

Based in Houston, Lang’s focus will be on energy infrastructure development, acquisition and disposition, with a particular concentration on LNG projects, according to a Baker McKenzie statement.

In the LNG sector, he advises both domestic and international clients across the value chain on matters related to gas supply, liquefaction, marketing and shipping, regasification and gas sales for projects throughout the world.

Lang joins Baker McKenzie from Vinson & Elkins in Houston, where he also previously practiced for seven years in the Hong Kong office, including two years serving as the office managing partner.

His international experience, in addition to LNG projects, includes transactions involving upstream, midstream, renewable energy and petrochemical sectors.
