Bibby takes Solstad Farstad’s CSV for North Sea ops

Norwegian offshore shipping company Solstad Farstad has entered into a contract with Bibby Offshore for the CSV Normand Clipper for operations in the North Sea.

Solstad Farstad said on Wednesday that the contract period was for 120 days firm in 2018 with options for 150 days in 2019 and 180 days in 2020.

According to the company’s statement, the contract with Bibby will begin between March 15 and April 15, 2018.

Hans Knut Skår, EVP of subsea constructions and renewables of Solstad Farstad, said: “Solstad Farstad is excited to once again be awarded a vessel contract with Bibby to support their operations in the North Sea and we are pleased to note that the subsea activity in the region is improving.”

Bibby Offshore’s chief executive, Howard Woodcock, added: “We are delighted to have secured this charter with Solstad Farstad for the Normand Clipper. She will be a very welcome addition to our fleet and provides us with a high quality vessel with a proven track record of offshore construction work in the North Sea.”

The Normand Clipper construction support vessel was built in 2001 by Ulstein Verft. The vessel is 128 meters long, 27 meters wide, and can accommodate 96 people.
