BSIC Wins VLOCs Order

Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. (BSIC) has secured an order to build four 250,000 dwt very large ore carriers (VLOCs) for Chinese state-owned Shandong Shipping Corporation.

As Sinoshipnews reports citing Zhao Xianfu, Vice General Manager of Shandong Shipping: “The four VLOCs we just ordered will be used to transport BHP’s iron ore and they will increase our total capacity to 2.36m dwt.”

All vessels should be delivered within the next three years.
