Construction Continues on Mokster's New Subsea Vessel

Construction works on Simon Mokster’s new subsea vessel (Yard no. 127) are in full swing in Poland. Later this year, the vessel will arrive at Simek yard in Flekkefjord for final outfitting prior to its delivery scheduled for May 2014.

The vessel, designed by Multi Maritime AS and called MM85 MSV, is a further development of Atlantis Dweller and Stril Explorer, the two vessels that Møkster received in 2010/2011. The newbuild, specially designed for ROV work, survey, diving and light construction work, will also be able to provide services to windmill construction work.

Yard no. 127 will have a diesel-electric propulsion system of 4 generators with approx. 6.490 kW. These supply power to two electric-powered propellers each of 1,600 kW aft. In addition, the ship is equipped with one bow thruster and two azimuth thrusters.
