Damen Signs Ship Repair Frame Agreement with Miclyn Express Offshore (UAE)
Damen Shipyards Sharjah and Miclyn Express Offshore have signed a vessel repair frame agreement. The deal was signed Monday, September 30, the first day of Seatrade Workboats & Offshore exhibition in Abu Dhabi.
The new deal that will see Miclyn Express Offshore vessels dry-docked and repaired by Damen Shipyards Sharjah.
Singapore-headquartered Miclyn Express Offshore (MEO) is a leading provider of service vessels to the expanding offshore oil and gas industry across South-East Asia, Australia and the Middle East and currently charters a diverse range of Offshore Support Vessels, Crew/Utility Vessels, Tugs, Barges and Coastal Survey Vessels to a wide range of customers operating across all phases of the offshore oil and gas cycle. MEO also provides chartering services to the marine civil construction industry.
The newly constructed, state-of-the-art Damen Shipyard Sharjah, has started its dry-docking operations and docked more than 50 vessels during 2013. The shipyard has direct non-restricted approach from the sea with a 1,500 meter of quay-side with a draught varying between 5 m and 9 m. A synchro-lift of 120 by 26.5 meter with a lifting capacity of 5200T is connected to 8 dry-berths, each 120 meter of length which two of the dry-berths completely covered.
