Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) of South Korea booked an order for two LNG carriers with an option for two additional vessels in the future.

The shipbuilder noted that the order for two 173,400-cbm LNG carriers, from an unnamed European ship owner, is valued at KRW 414 billion ($363 million).

The LNG tankers, that will feature gas-fueled MAN ME-GI engines, have a scheduled delivery in August 2019, DSME informed in its filing to the stock exchange.

Earlier in February, DSME executed a letter of intent with Excelerate Energy for the delivery of up to seven FSRUs.

In addition to the LNG carrier orders, the company received an order from John Fredriksen controlled shipping company, Frontline, for two very large crude carriers (VLCC).
