Energinet.dk Pens Subsea Cables Repair Deal with JD-Contractor

Energinet.dk has awarded a framework agreement to JD-Contractor for the contingency repair of its subsea cables.

The agreement covers all Energinet.dk subsea asserts in Denmark, among others the transmission systems and the export cables for all Danish offshore wind farms.

The contract started in September 2016 for a fixed period of five years with the possibility of extending the contract by a further three years.

Per Lundby Andersen, engineer – subsea cables, Energinet.dk said: “We have been very satisfied with the cooperation and support from JD-Contractor on cable repairs in the past. To minimize the potential downtime on our assets, it is important for Energinet.dk to have a professional and agile partner, who knows our type of assets, the environment around them and the urgency of restoring our grid connections as soon as possible in a well-planned, safe and efficient operation. JD-Contractor is such a partner and as the tender process has proven so is their competitiveness, so we look forward to continuing the cooperation with them, and to develop and improve our contingency plans for Energinet.dk subsea cables.”

Rasmus Normann Andersen, CEO of JD-Contractor, said: “We are very happy to consolidate our long working relationship with Energinet.dk with this agreement. It is a testimony to our experience in this area, and the good cooperation between Energinet.dk and JD-Contractor, which over the years have proved to be a successful combination of the completion of cable repairs in record time.”
