Forum Energy Receives Competency Pack from ACE Winch Academy (UK)

At an IMCA Competence Seminar held at the Hilton Treetops Hotel in Aberdeen on 12th March 2013, the ACE Winch Academy took the opportunity to hand over a completed competency pack to representatives from Forum Energy Technologies.

ACE Winch Academy is developing five competency schemes, based on the International Marine Contractors Association’s (IMCA) model for their ROV disciplines from ROV Superintendant to ROV Pilot Technician Grade 2 for Forum Energy Technologies which provides ROV Superintendants, Supervisors and Pilot Technicians as well as other personnel to the Oil and Gas Industry.

David Moxey, ACE Winches’ Academy Training Manager said: “We are delighted to announce this important contract, which recognises the knowledge, skills and expertise we have here at ACE Winches.

“There is clearly a need for an industry standard to be established in terms of training offshore winch operators, and ACE Winches is the company to deliver that.”
