Signed in August 2025, the contract includes the delivery of four XLX EVO III ROVs, scheduled for April, June, July and August, with the first two to be mobilized in Singapore.

The vehicles are designed to undertake a broad spectrum of underwater tasks, and will be equipped with 420mm diameter thrusters for increased through-water performance and an improved buoyancy package, facilitating over 500 kg of unladen payload, FET said. According to the company, the 3,000m ROVs come with updated pilot chairs and console as well as FET’s next-gen control software ICE Unity.

FET will manufacture the ROVs at its facility at Kirkbymoorside, North Yorkshire, UK.

DOF has since 2008 purchased over 60 ROVs from FET. In October 2025, it was reported that the Norwegian firm placed an order with FET for a WROV with a supporting tether management system that will support its subsea operations in Brazil.

Kevin Taylor, FET’s Vice President Operations – Subsea, said: “This contract reaffirms the strong partnership between DOF and FET, and an order of this scale reflects the confidence DOF places in our subsea technologies. We are excited to see our next generation work class ROV in action next year and look forward to supporting DOF through our customer services team.”
