Global Energy said that Aiken was bought in a pre-pack deal following the firm being placed into administration.

According to the company, the purchase ensures that Aiken can continue to operate, and the client base can be fully supported going forward.

Aiken Group, established in 1987 and headquartered in Aberdeen, trades through nine divisions and provides multi-disciplinary engineering and project management services, specializing in modules, accommodation, and refrigeration.

As a supplier of accommodation modules, Aiken provides specialist technicians to offshore oil and gas operators, supporting the maintenance and certification requirements of permanently-installed living and catering areas.

The acquisition, Global Energy said, added capability complimented the work of its ICON division.

Ian Cobban, Global Energy Group COO, stated: “We are delighted to conclude the purchase of this business, which brings complementary skills to our existing business, and we look forward to working with the team to ensure we enjoy a long and successful future together.”

In recent company news, Global Energy Group last week revealed its plans for further development of its Nigg facilities in Scotland.
