Goa Shipyard Hosts Meeting of SODET Members

Representatives of Member Organizations of the Society of Defence Technologists (SODET) attended an interactive meeting on “Research & Development Strategies” held at Goa Shipyard Limited on 26 April 2013.

In their opening remarks, RAdm (Retd) Vineet Bakhshi, VSM, Chairman & Managing Director, Goa Shipyard Limited and Shri M. Narayana Rao, Chairman & Managing Director, MIDHANI & Chairman, SODET stressed the relevance of R&D for Defence Public Sector Undertakings and the need to have a focused approach for future initiatives in this regard.

The day long interaction included a detailed discussion of various issues concerning R&D strategies in DPSUs and the need to synergize the activities regarding in-house R&D for production of equipment and provision of services to meet the defence requirements.
