French LNG containment specialist GTT secured an order to equip a new FSRU being built by Hyundai Heavy Industries with its Mark III cryogenic membrane containment system.

The vessel being built for Höegh LNG at Hyundai’s shipyard in Ulsan will have a storage capacity of 170,000 cubic meters of liquefied natural gas and is scheduled for delivery in 2018.

GTT noted in its statement on Monday that currently, four FSRUs built by HHI and equipped with the Mark III technology are in service.

With its latest shipbuilding contracts for two firm FSRU and three optional vessels, Höegh LNG has a total of 10 large size newbuilt FSRUs in operation or under construction.
