Island Offshore Secures Contract for its New Vessel

Island Offshore, provider of high quality solutions for the offshore oil industry based on a fleet of advanced high quality service and subsea service vessels, announces that it has received a 4 month contract for its Island Centurion vessel from ConocoPhillips.

The contract is for supply duties in the North Sea. Island offshore said “the contract has further option up to the time of conversion into a Stimulation Vessel”

Naming ceremony for the Island Centurion was held on Saturday, October 29, at the shipyard in Brevik, Norway. It is the fifth vessel in the series of UT 776 CD that Island Offshore has built at STX OSV Brevik.

Also, the company last week announced that it received a 7 year contract from Schlumberger for the Island Centurion and Island Captain vessels.

“Island Offshore is very pleased with this contract, and to build further on the already well established relationship with Schlumberger and ConocoPhillips. The well stimulation market has been a target for IO in the last few years, and this has resulted in that IO is likely to have 4 out of 5 well stimulation vessels on long term in 2013 in the North Sea with Oil Majors as end-client.” said the company in an e-mail to Offshore Energy Today.
