New executive team elected to lead after Baker Hughes-GE merger

Baker Hughes and GE on Monday announced the executive team that will lead Baker Hughes, a GE company upon closing of the pending transaction to combine GE’s Oil & Gas business with Baker Hughes. 

According to a joint statement by the two companies, the combined executive team of the new company will be headed by Lorenzo Simonelli, President & CEO of GE Oil & Gas, who will now take the role of President & CEO of the new company.

Maria Claudia Borras was elected for the role of President & CEO at Oilfield Services department, Belgacem Chariag as Chief Global Operations Officer, Rod Christie as President & CEO, Turbomachinery & Process Solutions and Harry Elsinga as Chief Human Resources Officer.

Furthermore, Jennifer Hartsock will be the new company’s Chief Information Officer, Matthias Heilmann has the role of President & CEO, Digital Solutions, Jack Hinton the role of Chief Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Officer, Nicola Jannis the role of Chief Business Development Officer and Derek Mathieson the one of Chief Marketing and Technology Officer.

Finally, Jody Markopoulos was named Chief Engineering and Supply Chain Officer, Will Marsh as Chief Legal Officer, Neil Saunders as President & CEO at Oilfield Equipment, Uwem Ukpong as Chief Integration Officer and Brian Worrell as Chief Financial Officer.

The pending merger was recently cleared by the European Commission under EU merger control rules which found no competition concerns.

The “New” Baker Hughes will be an equipment, technology and services provider in the oil and gas industry with $32 billion of combined revenue and operations in more than 120 countries.
