 Norway: GDF Suez E&P Norge Appoints New Managing Director

GDF SUEZ E&P Norge said on its website that as of 01.12.11 Atle Sonesen will replace Terje Overvik as Managing Director. Sonesen joined GDF SUEZ E&P Norge in 2005, and currently holds the position as Head of Asset.

He has a Master of Science degree in petroleum technology from the University of Stavanger, and his professional background includes business development, technology and marketing for Schlumberger Oilfield Services. He has more than 18 years experience from the petroleum industry, within areas such as international drilling and well operations and license and asset management on the Norwegian continental shelf.

 “I wish to thank Terje Overvik for his major contribution to GDF SUEZ E&P Norge“, comments Sonesen. “Under his leadership the company accomplished a highly successful start-up as operator of the Gjøa field, and has established its position on the Norwegian continental shelf. With the support of the GDF SUEZ Group, I look forward to building on our past achievements and to developing our portfolio in Norway.”

Current Managing Director Terje Overvik has been appointed Executive Vice President Regional Division in GDF SUEZ E&P International in Paris.
