Rem Offshore Puts Off Newbuild Delivery

Business & Finance

Norway’s Rem Offshore and Vard Group have agreed to postpone delivery of the OCV (Offshore Construction Vessel).

Namely, in June 2014, Rem Offshore entered into a newbuilding contract with Vard for delivery in the first quarter of 2016.

However, under the new agreement, delivery of the vessel is scheduled for the first quarter 2017.

According to previous report, the vessel is of the Vard 206 design with overall length of 100 meters and a beam of 25 meters. The vessel will be equipped with a 150 ton offshore crane, ROV hangar, prepared for A-frame and accommodation for 90 people.

Rem says that this decision to delay the project is because of the current market situation. The building cost for the vessel is approximately $133.3  million.
