Sesoda Places Massive Order for New Bulkers

SESODA, the largest sulfate of potash (SOP) manufacturer in Taiwan, has decided to expand its fleet of bulk carriers with six new vessels to be built in Japan.

The company ordered 34,000 dwt and 38,000 dwt vessels that will be constructed at Imabari Shipbuilding, Namura Shipbuilding, and another one yet unnamed Japanese shipyard.

In total, the company is allocating around $150 million for the six newbuldings, SinoShip reported earlier today.

The bulkers are slated for delivery from 2016 through 2018.
