Seven Havila is owned by JV Havila Shipping and Subsea 7 and won the award in one of the most important offshore conferences in the world. The winner Seven Havila got most votes in a worldwide poll in competition with three other nominated offshore vessels.

The vessel is a Havyard 858 DSV design, is 120 metres long, 23 metres wide and can hold a crew of 120 people.   Seven Havila is a state-of-the-art diving support vessel and is purpose built for underwater operations assisted by divers. From the start the ship has been designed to fit in with the advanced diving systems. Through the design and building process there has been close cooperation between designer, shipyard, suppliers of diving systems, shipowner and ship operator. In this way top competence from ship design, shipbuilding, marine operations and diving operations has been utilized in order to get the best end product.    “This is a fantastic confirmation that the development we have had in Havyard Group the last 5 years has been correct and important. Correct when we see our competent and motivated employees working with our customers and suppliers to deliver a vessel that is Support Vessel of the year 2011 in competition with all offshore vessels built worldwide in 2010. Important also because it creates safe, exciting and interesting jobs in an international environment for our employees. And that we can bring added value to our stakeholders, either being our owners, customers and suppliers. Everyone involved has played a crucial role, but we would like to say a special thank you to our customers, Subsea 7 and Havila Shipping. Without their faith in us through placing this order and their transfer of competence to us during the building period, then this would not have been possible,” says President & CEO Geir Johan Bakke of Havyard Group.
