The six-month project covers approximately 8,500 sq. km and will be acquired by the Amazon Warrior vessel, using 14-streamers and Flexisource triple source.

The Amazon Warrior is equipped with a Qmarine streamer system and has been working offshore Brazil since March 2019.

“The Amazon Warrior has proven to be a powerful and effective seismic vessel in Brazil,” said Irene Waage Basili, the CEO of Shearwater GeoServices.

“We are very excited to see the vessel remaining in South America and adding to the large volume of high quality 3D data acquired since its arrival there. This award further strengthens a growing Shearwater backlog.”

The Amazon Warrior is designed, in its entirety, for the purpose of high-capacity seismic acquisition. It is one of two Amazon class vessels in Shearwater’s fleet. It is equipped for world-wide operations ranging from harsh arctic environments, to South Atlantic conditions where the unique vessel design enables low noise data to be acquired through an extended operational window.

This is the third contract to be announced by Shearwater this week.

On Monday, Shearwater said it had been awarded a seismic acquisition and depth processing contract by Turkish national oil and gas company TPAO.

On Tuesday, the company revealed it had been awarded a master services agreement by Lundin Norway and new Isometrix seismic acquisition projects for Lundin and Spirit Energy Norway in the Barents Sea off Norway.
