The acquisition is TGS’ first after the launch of its New Energy Solutions business earlier this year, established to pursue opportunities related to the energy transition.

4C Offshore provides data and analytics for developers, operators, asset managers, equipment providers and construction companies working in the offshore wind sector.

The consultancy is based in Lowestoft, United Kingdom, and has 29 employees.

TGS did not disclose any other information about the acquisition.

“We look forward to working with TGS and the New Energy Solutions team to enhance our common platform in the renewable energy industry. Last year renewable electricity sources grew at their fastest rate in two decades, despite the pandemic,” said Chris Anderson, chairman and CEO of 4C Offshore.

“Together with TGS, we expect to grow and improve upon our services and capitalize on the expected increase in demand for high quality data and insights on offshore wind.”
