Thailand: Precious Shipping Buys Two Bulk Carriers from STX Pan Ocean

The Bangkok-based ship-owner Precious Shipping signed a memorandum of understanding to acquire two handymax vessels from STX Pan Ocean for $39m, Seatrade Asia reports.

Acquisition of 34,000 dwt handymax bulk carriers, STX Pioneer and STX Queensland built in 2005, is part of the company’s strategy to renew its fleet. With this acquisition, Precious Shipping will have a fleet of 26 bulkers.

Precious Shipping has recently cancelled the purchase of a vessel from Taizhou Sanfu Shipyard due to a delivery delay.
