BHI Rig Count: U.S. -6 to 1860 rigs

U.S. Rig Count is down 6 rigs from last week to 1860, with oil rigs unchanged at 1536, gas rigs down 6 to 320, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 4.

U.S. Rig Count is up 95 rigs from last year at 1765, with oil rigs up 130, gas rigs down 34, and miscellaneous rigs down 1.
The U.S. Offshore rig count is 58, down 2 rigs from last week, and up 2 rigs year over year.
BHI Rig Count: Canada +16 to 214 rigs

Canadian Rig Count is up 16 rigs from last week to 214, with oil rigs up 17 to 122, and gas rigs down 1 to 92.

Canadian Rig Count is up 62 rigs from last year at 152, with oil rigs up 22, and gas rigs up 40.

The Baker Hughes Rotary Rig Counts are counts of the number of drilling rigs actively exploring for or developing oil or natural gas in the United States, Canada and international markets. Baker Hughes has issued the rotary rig counts as a service to the petroleum industry since 1944, when Hughes Tool Company began weekly counts of US and Canadian drilling activity. Baker Hughes initiated the monthly international rig count in 1975.
