Video: RiaSoR workshop for marine energy developers

The European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) has released a video of the Reliability in a Sea of Risk (RiaSoR) workshop held in Glasgow earlier this month.

The workshop was aimed at educating engineers on the use of ocean-energy-focused variance mode and effect analysis methodology (VMEA) to improve reliability in the design of wave and tidal energy devices.

It provided an overview and training on the use of the methodology for the RiaSoR-established guidelines detailing industry best practice in reliability testing for wave and tidal energy devices through improved load measurements and verification.

Last week, the project released the guide advising on the assessment of reliability in marine energy converters. It was developed by SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden, in association with EMEC and ORE Catapult.
