CSSC's Jiangnan Shipyard Scores Order for Six VLGCs

CSSC’s Jiangnan Shipyard has received an order from China Oriental Energy for six very large gas carriers (VLGCs) with an option for additional 10 to 16 units of the same type.

Delivery is expected to begin late 2014.

Jiangnan Shipyard is part of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) located in Shanghai which builds, repairs and converts both civilian and military ships. CSSC’s main business is shipbuilding, covering both the naval and civil products. CSSC boasts its wide spectrum of products, ranging from the conventional oil tankers and bulk carriers to the sophisticated and state-of-the-art vessels, such as LNG carriers, VLCCs, chemical carriers, ro/ro passenger freight ships, large containerships, large LPG carriers, large self-unloading ships, high speed ships and various civil ships and offshore engineering facilities. So far, CSSC has already exported a large number of ships to more than 50 countries and regions all around the world.
