This significant branch launch is a big step towards the company’s goal to build up an own crewing agency for parts of the Harren & Partner fleet. For a start, its Istanbul office will be responsible for the gradual manning of Harren & Partner’s tankers and container feeder vessels.

“Our main purpose for this extensive development is certainly the achievement of Harren & Partner’s defined goal: strengthening our seamen’s sense of identification and belonging with Harren & Partner in order to establish close and long-term relationships. We want our crews to be an inherent part of the Harren & Partner family and that our crew members feel connected to the fleet. In our view, a reliable and trusted crew is the key factor to safe and efficient ship operation,”  Harren & Partner said in a press release.

Furthermore, the company have always put particular emphasis on thorough education and training of crews on board the H&P fleet. Running their own crewing agency enables the company to reinforce their activities in this area. From the beginning on, Harren & Partner’s main principals has been to comply with the highest safety and quality standards. This can certainly only be achieved with well-trained and motivated crews on board their vessels. Therefore, Harren & Partner support their seamen with target-oriented education and trainings while simultaneously pursuing a strong identification with Harren & Partner.

Harren & Partner Istanbul office is fully integrated into the company’s IT infrastructure with full access to data, programs, and accounting system. This contributes to a lean administration and improves the efficiency of their workflow. Before running the Istanbul office, their first employees had stayed at Bremen office. Here they became acquainted with the company’s procedures and IT systems and met their Bremen colleagues. Their visit was of course an important basis for a consistent and smooth cooperation while reaching a certain sense of unity.
