‘Havila Troll’ vessel stays with Statoil

Havila Shipping ASA has secured a contract extension for one of its vessels with the Norwegian oil and gas giant Statoil.

According to Havila Shipping’s filling to Oslo stock exchange on Friday, September 25, 2015, Statoil has declared the second option for the Rapid Response Vessel (RRV) vessel Havila Troll. The optional period is for one year from November 2015 until November 2016.

Statoil has one optional period of one year and one optional period of two years until end of November 2019 left.

The first option for the vessel was executed in August 2013, according to which ‘Havila Troll’ was to stay with Statoil until November 2015.

RRV Havila Troll operates at Statoil’s Troll field, in the northern part of the North Sea, which recently reached 20 years since the start of oil production.

Separately, Havila on Monday said it would stack two AHTS vessels due to soft market conditions. The company said this would lead to workforce reduction.
