NileDutch Starts New East Med – West Africa Service

Rotterdam-based container line NileDutch will introduce a new service to link the East Mediterranean with West Africa, scheduled to start from October 23.

The rotation will start in Turkey and the service will run every nine days. The first vessel, the 1,878 TEU Cafer Dede, will sail on 23 October 2015.

NileDutch says this development aims to meet the growing demand from exporters in the East Mediterranean for better access to their markets in West Africa.

The new service will be operated by NileDutch in cooperation with Turkon Line.

The port rotation on the new serice will be as follows: Alexandria – Mersin – Istanbul (Kumport) – Evyap – Gemlik – Aliaga – Tangier.

In Tangier cargo will be transferred to the NileDutch WEWA (West Europe – West Africa) service which calls on Abidjan, Pointe Noire, Luanda, Lobito and Namibe.
