Unique System FZE to Conduct Dive Medic Technician Course (UAE)

Unique System FZE, a Unique Maritime Group company, is set to conduct National Hyperbaric Centre’s Diver Medic Technician Course starting 19th May 2013. The course is scheduled to run for a period of 2 weeks.

The IMCA Diver Medic course is required for divers, as a pre-requisite for diving team selection that involves saturation and air diving world-wide, by many major diving operators. Experienced instructors provide high quality training in diving procedures and diving medicine. The course is intensive with practical and theoretical modules.

The course comprises both theoretical and intensive practical tuition using modern training aids. The course will be conducted by experienced diving doctors and medics.

Some of the topics covered in this course include:

– Casualty Handling Under Pressure

– Care of Medical Equipment/Record Keeping

– Diving Related Illness: Barotraumas, DCI, Decompression Illness

– Advanced Life Support

– Control & Management of Dive Related Injury or Illness

– Insertion of Chest Drain

– Patient Examination

– Basic Anatomy & Physiology

– Intraosseous Infusion

– Use of Defibrillator

– Oxygen Administration

To qualify for the IMCA Diver Medic qualification, applicants must hold an offshore qualification in diving. This can be an LST, diving supervisor or diving qualification recognised by IMCA. Upon successful completion of the course, the entrant will be given a Certificate of Training. The certificate is valid for 3 years from date of issue.
