Richard Sadler named GasLog, GasLog Partners’ COO

GasLog and its New York-listed spinoff GasLog Partners named Richard Sadler as the chief operating officer following the retirement of Graham Westgarth from the position.

Westgarth was appointed to the GasLog board of directors and will work with Sadler, who will take up his position in September to ensure a smooth transition.

Sadler brings a wealth of shipping experience to GasLog having served as CEO of Lloyd’s Register Group from 2007 to 2015, GasLog said.

Prior to his time as CEO of Lloyd’s Register, Sadler worked as a director of asset management for the Royal Bank of Scotland in the shipping and offshore energy division.

He held a number of positions at Lloyd’s Register, including overseeing the construction of LNG newbuildings for the North West Shelf project and was the LR liaison for the Shell LNG vessels operating from Brunei.

Commenting on his appointment, Sadler said “the LNG and LNG shipping markets are experiencing a period of considerable growth” and that he is looking to steer the company into “world-class” player in the LNG value chain.
